Tom Campbell became obsessed at an early age with his favorite records and TV shows. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University where he spent most of his time performing with the a capella singing group, The Harvard Din & Tonics. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. Tom’s first job was as an assistant at the now legendary personal management company, Gallin Morey Associates, which provided him a front-row seat to the careers of superstars like Dolly Parton, Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Diamond, The Pointer Sisters, Paula Abdul, and many more. Tom segued from personal management to a career in television – first as a Manager of Original Programming at HBO, where he worked on Comic Relief, Dream On, and Tales from the Crypt. Tom then opened the west coast office of MTV as Director of Series for MTV, where he developed and produced, Dead at 21, the channel’s first scripted drama series. As Vice President of ABC Daytime, Tom worked with Barbara Walters to develop and launch The View. Campbell was hired as Senior Vice President of Television at New Line Cinema, and then Senior Vice President of Comedy at Warner Bros. In early 2000, Campbell began his career in unscripted television as a producer and head of development at Evolution Media.

Since 2006, Tom has worked at World of Wonder, where he holds the title of Chief Creative Officer. Tom has been responsible for developing, launching, and producing the international phenomenon, RuPaul’s Drag Race, which in 2020 broke records by winning the most Emmy Awards for any Competition Series in history, and has won 24 Emmys to date. In addition, Tom has developed and produced the many Drag Race franchise extensions, including RuPaul’s Drag Live! at Flamingo Las Vegas, RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars, Untucked: RuPaul’s Drag Race, RuPaul DragCon, RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Down Under, RuPaul’s Drag U, and RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race.

In addition to producing all things Drag Race, Campbell heads up development at World of Wonder and serves as Executive Producer on all World of Wonder series, including Million Dollar Listing (Bravo), Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce (Fuse), Dancing Queen (Netflix), Candidly Nicole (VH1), Dragging the Classics: The Brady Bunch (Paramount+), and many others.
