Laura Karpman

Winner of the 2020 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special for Why We Hate, Laura Karpman also co-founded the Alliance for Women Film Composers and remains on its board.


Recipient of the 2020 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song "All For Us" from Euphoria, Labrinth has brought new sounds to media composition.

Rickey Minor

No one is better at making magic happen behind the scenes than Rickey Minor, winner of the 2020 Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction.

Nathan Barr

Nathan Barr's dynamic theme to Hollywood won the 2020 Emmy for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music. The win was one of three Emmy nominations for Barr for the year.

Christopher Lennertz

In addition to being one of the most in-demand media composers, Christopher Lennertz serves as a board member on the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation and Education Through Music Los Angeles organizations.

Ludwig Göransson

Ludwig Göransson's work on The Mandalorian won him the 2020 Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series. Ludwig now has an Emmy, Oscar, and Grammy in his possession.

Kris Bowers

Kris Bowers, featured composer for the Summer 2020 Edition of The Score Magazine was one of the first composers forced to record the score to Mrs. America remotely in order to deliver on time. The score went on to be nominated for Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie or Special.

Alan Menken

Composer and songwriter Alan Menken's recent Emmy win for Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure fulfilled the remaining requirement for Menken to EGOT, having previously won a Grammy (11), Oscar (8), and Tony (1).

The SCL is a vibrant community of composers, lyricists, and songwriters, and has been an active part of Hollywood's music community since 1983. SCL members enjoy the camaraderie among composers and lyricists at a variety of stages in their careers, along with students, patrons, and sponsors supportive of our professional work. The SCL is active in improving the workplace and working conditions through an ongoing dialogue with experienced and acknowledged representatives of the global music community.
