For applicants outside the metropolitan areas of Los Angeles or New York, or for students who do not yet have the credits for Regular Memberships, but who are actively working towards their film, TV, game, or musical theater credits to qualify for Regular Membership. These membership levels do not include any voting privileges.
For composers, lyricists, and songwriters with the required credits. These membership levels include voting privileges for the SCL Awards and the Board of Directors.
For industry professionals involved in the film, TV, game, and musical theater industries, including music executives, music supervisors, music editors, musicians, agents, attorneys, and managers. These membership levels do not include voting privileges.
REQUIRED CREDITS FOR REGULAR MEMBERSHIPS
Film Composers: One (1) motion picture credit (unreleased films count) or four (4) "additional music by" credits or 20 minutes of cue sheet credit from any number of films. May be combined with TV credits for total minutes.
Television Composers: One (1) episode or TV movie credit on free to air or subscription TV (pilots count) or 20 minutes of cue sheet credit from any number of shows. May be combined with motion picture credits for total minutes.
Songwriters/Lyricists: One (1) source or featured song placed in a motion picture, television program or video game.
Game Composers: An aggregate of 30 minutes of original music composed for any number of released titles. Only games that contain recorded music will be considered for eligibility.
Musical Theater Composers/Lyricists: At least 1 professional, fully-staged Actors Equity Association production at an Equity-based and approved regional theatre in the U.S., including productions off-Broadway and Broadway. Composer/lyricist must have received compensation and had a professional run in front of a paying audience.
Commercial and trailer composers with appropriate credits are welcome to apply for membership.
