Beth Krakower

(1971-2018)

It is with immense sorrow and a profound sense of loss that we mark the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Beth Bobo Krakower, after a long-fought battle with cancer. Beth loved her job and her clients. She loved the SCL and we loved her.

Selfless to a fault, if you needed her help or advice nothing was ever too much trouble for Beth, and even in her darkest times over the course of her many treatments, she was always willing to put herself out for others.

As a publicist she was at the top of her game while her experience as a musician, playing violin, viola and saxophone afforded her a distinct perspective not shared by most others in her field.

When the SCL was just beginning to venture into social media, Beth was a fount of information and advice, and in the ensuing years led several seminars on the subject in order to help our members maximize their opportunities in the most efficient manner possible.

But most of all, Beth will be remembered as someone who would light up the room as soon as she entered it. Her radiant smile, infectious sense of humor and exuberant personality was the constant to which the rest of us can only hope to aspire in such dour circumstances as those she faced. She always made us feel better, even while she was suffering.

Beth, anyone whose life you touched is better for it and the SCL will be forever in your debt.

Farewell, dear soul. You’ve endured so much, may you now rest in peace.
