Music Publishing course at UCLA
UCLA extension is offering the course “Independent Music Publishing: Business and Legal Elements” beginning April 3rd. For songwriters, aspiring recording artists, accountants, attorneys, and music publishers who want to master the basic practices of self-publishing, this course provides a thorough analysis of the business procedures that protect and profit the creators of music. Lectures and discussion with industry professionals provide an overview of the system and cover such topics as basic copyright principles, administration techniques, song licensing in all forms of media, performing rights societies, royalty accounting, and the foreign music marketplace. Fulfills Publishing requirement in Certificated Program in The Music Business. Elective course in Certificated Programs in Songwriting, Film Scoring, and the Business and Management of Entertainment for Film, Television, Interactive Media, and the Internet.
