SCL Board Member Cindy O’Connor Represents Music Creators in Congressional Roundtable on Generative AI

On Thursday, March 21, Ranking Member of the House Small Business Committee Nydia Velazquez (D-NY) and Democratic Caucus Vice Chair Ted Lieu (D-CA) hosed a roundtable focused on the impact of generative AI on small content creators. Reps. Hank Johnson (D-GA) and Don Beyer (D-VA) were also in attendance. Three different ACG clients were invited to attend the panel: the American Society for Collective Rights Licensing (ASCRL), the Authors Guild, and the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL). Jamie Silverberg, CEO of ASCRL, Mary Rasenberger CEO of the Authors Guild, and Cindy O’Connor, SCL Board Member, helped foster the discussion and answered Members’ questions on how AI is impacting their industries reminding everyone that small businesses must have a seat at the table.
