Mission Statement

Women In Film’s purpose is to empower, promote, nurture and mentor women in the entertainment, communication and media industries to achieve their highest potential through a network of valuable contacts, educational programs and events. Women In Film also increases the visibility of women and recognizes their achievements in these industries.

Background Information

Founded in 1973 in Los Angeles, Women In Film is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to women in the global entertainment industry. In addition to an extensive network of valuable contacts, WIF provides a mentor program, workshops, seminars and screenings, scholarships, film finishing funds and grants, advocacy, community outreach programs, such as the production of public service announcements, and other practical services for its members. The WIF Los Angeles chapter has over 2,300 women and men members. Worldwide, WIF has over 8,000 members in 43 affiliate chapters.
