The First Sundance Film Composer’s Lab

Share

This is the first film music lab at Sundance, headed by David Newman. Filmed in 1988, the studio is filled with early equipment. In view are the first Apple Macintosh, Apple II’s, DX-7’s, Auricle and a 24 track reel to reel analog recorder spins into frame. Though the sound and visuals are distorted from this early video camera, they paint a picture of early electronic music composition and the beginnings of the Sundance Film Composer’s Lab.
