Lynn Kowal
Marketing and Merchandise
Growing up in Baltimore, composer Lynn F. Kowal attended Peabody Conservatory as a child and was given access to the 1967 Moog Modular synthesizer that Bob Moog installed and maintained. Upon earning her Master of Music degree in Electronic and Computer Music Composition from Peabody/Johns Hopkins University, she was able to connect with another Baltimore native, Barry Levinson, who gave her the “big break” of main title theme composer for his series “Homicide: Life on the Street.”
Hundreds of primetime episodes, national television commercials, indie films and “serious” concert works later, Lynn still has an everyday passion for the next score, the next challenge - particularly in independent film. She believes that a good story and the freedom to create a unique sonic environment are among the best reasons to get up in the morning, take a focused look around the studio and get to work.
