Vice President
David Das is a Grammy-nominated composer and music producer based in Los Angeles. His experience covers the range from feature films, TV shows, cartoons, commercials, trailers, and other media work, over to modern music production, choral and orchestral writing/arranging, and more. He has worked on projects for Lionsgate, Fox, Disney, DirecTV, Dreamworks, Fremantle, Intel, BBDO, HBO, PBS, TLC, Telemundo, Weight Watchers, Coca Cola, Hal Leonard, and many others. He has composed music for dozens of TV shows, scored films (such as Lionsgate’s feature thriller The Appearing and the human trafficking drama Trafficked), worked on music teams (Jordan Peele's US, HBO's Allen v. Farrow, both with composer Michael Abels), and written and produced songs for numerous pop, rock, R&B, soul, and musical theatre artists (including Aaron Lazar's star-studded Impossible Dream). He serves as Vice President of the Society of Composers & Lyricists and Past President of the Academy of Scoring Arts.
With a background in pop and jazz but schooled in the classical tradition, David has lived and studied all over the world, including the U.S., England, Italy, and Singapore. He studied classical piano and conducting at the University of North Texas, and during that time was a member of the award-winning Jazz Singers. Later seasons in Nashville and Los Angeles brought opportunities to tour, arrange, and produce for such diverse artists as vocal superstar Josh Groban, Grammy-winning singer Rebecca St. James, American Idol Katharine McPhee, Rachael Yamagata, Mark Ballas, Israel Houghton, Ginny Owens, Tori Kelly, and many others. His television writing includes theme music for Nick Jr’s Parental Discretion, Supreme Justice with Judge Karen, The Young Icons, and additional music for dozens of shows ranging from the animated Dreamworks series VeggieTales in the House, American Idol, Amish Mafia, FOX Football Daily, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, HBO’s Homeland, Pawn Stars, Say Yes to the Dress, The Sing-Off, So You Think You Can Dance, and many more. He has done sound design work for Big Fish Audio, PSP Audioware, MOTU, and Native Instruments. In addition to being a Grammy nominee, his music has hit the top 10 charts on TikTok, and has been part of projects receiving a Global Entertainment Marketing Academy (GEMA/ProMax) Gold and Bronze award, a Heartland Emmy nomination, and the Cleo Award shortlist.
