SCL 30th Anniversary Statement

As the Society of Composers & Lyricists prepares to celebrate our thirtieth anniversary, we are proud of the vital role that we play in the area of music for media. With founding members active in both the Screen Composers Association and the Composers and Lyricists Guild of America, we are proud of our unique and singular heritage. Our organization now counts over a thousand members from around the world and our Advisory Board, Ambassador Program and membership include the most talented and celebrated composers and lyricists in our profession. It has never been our role to undermine or discourage organizations with similar goals to our own. To the contrary, collegiality among our fellow creators has been an important tenet of the SCL and will continue to be as we move forward.
