SCL Celebrates Oscar-Nominated Members at Annual Oscars® Reception
The Society of Composers & Lyricists, in association with the AMPAS Music Branch Governors, honored the nominees in the Score and Song categories of the 96th Academy Awards at the SCL’s Annual Oscars® Reception in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 9th.
Nominees present included composers Laura Karpman (American Fiction), Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer), Jerskin Fendrix (Poor Things), and John Williams (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), and songwriters Jon Batiste and Dan Wilson (“It Never Went Away”, American Symphony), Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt (“I’m Just Ken”, Barbie), and Diane Warren (“The Fire Inside”, Flamin’ Hot).
SCL Vice President Charles Bernstein spoke about the importance of recognition and evolution within the scope of awards for music in film before SCL President Ashley Irwin presented each nominee with their certificate and gifts of congratulations.
