The SCL Joins With the National Music Council of the United States in Condemning the Attack on Israel
The National Music Council of the United States grieves over the terrorism and violence that has shaken the Middle East this week and joins the world in mourning the loss of all innocent lives. As music community representatives, we are especially saddened by and appalled at the murder of over 250 attendees who had gathered at the Tribe of Nova Music Festival in Israel to enjoy a musical celebration of peace and international unity, only to be met by barbarism beyond description. It is our greatest hope that justice and peace will prevail throughout the region, and that the global music community can help –as it so often does– both to comfort the bereaved and to inspire greater striving toward an end to terrorism and a better and more secure future for all.
