Academy Award-nominated composer and pianist Nicholas Britell is known for his critically acclaimedscores, including those for Barry Jenkins’ 2018 If Beale Street Could Talk and Jenkins’ 2017 Academy Award Best Picture winner Moonlight. Britell received Academy Award nominations for both those films as well as BAFTA and Critics’ Choice nominations for If Beale Street Could Talk. He received Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice nominations as well as the 2016 Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score (Dramatic Feature) for Moonlight. The year prior, he wrote the score for Adam McKay’s The Big Short, which marked the start of his collaboration with the Academy Award-winning writer-director-producer. In 2018, he wrote the score for McKay’s Vice, starring Christian Bale and Amy Adams. For television, Britell scores HBO’s Succession, for which he won the 2019 EMMY for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music and the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score. Britell’s most recent film work is the score for Netflix’s The King, starring Timothée Chalamet. In 2019, Britell was honored by the World Soundtrack Award as the Film Composer of the Year for his scores for If Beale Street Could Talk and Vice.
Britell is a Steinway Artist and is also a Creative Associate of the Juilliard School. In December 2018, it was announced that Britell will be part of Esa-Pekka Salonen’s newly formed creative collective “brain trust” as Salonen takes the reins as music director of the San Francisco Symphony. His recent public performances have included concerts at London’s Barbican Hall, the Million Dollar Theatre in Los Angeles, Chicago’s Ravinia, and Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. Britell’s upcoming projects include Barry Jenkins’ The Underground Railroad series for Amazon and Succession’s Season 3 for HBO.
Academy Award and Emmy nominated producer Kevin Messick‘s most recent feature, Vice, received eight Academy Award, six BAFTA, and five Golden Globe nominations, while his latest television series, HBO’s Succession on which he serves as executive producer has garnered numerous accolades and awards, including the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series and BAFTA’s Best International Series. Messick also won the PGA AWARD for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television – Drama for Succession and was nominated for a PGA Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Picture for Vice. In 2015, he served as an executive producer on McKay’s The Big Short, which received Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe nominations for Best Picture, and won the 2016 PGA for Best Picture.
Messick’s upcoming projects include an HBO limited series, chronicling the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers as well as a limited series based on Miami Herald investigative reporter Julie K. Brown’s book about Jeffrey Epstein. He will serve as an executive producer on HBO’s limited series adaptation of Bong Joon Ho’s Academy Award Best Picture Parasite. In addition, he will produce McKay’s upcoming feature Don’t Look Up, starring Jennifer Lawrence. Prior to joining Hyperobject Industries with McKay, Messick was a producer at Gary Sanchez Productions where he produced/executive produced numerous films including The Other Guys, Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Tammy, Get Hard, The Boss as well as Daddy’s Home and Daddy’s Home 2.
