
SCL Sponsors Reception for the Congressional Musicians Caucus in Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C. On December 17, 2025, the Congressional Musicians Caucus hosted its “Off the Record” reception Tuesday evening in the Ways & Means Committee room, bringing together lawmakers and leaders from across the music community.
The event was sponsored by The Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) — represented by SCL Vice President David Das, a Grammy-nominated composer and music producer — along with NAMM, SoundExchange, ASCAP, SONA, A2IM, and the Music Artists Coalition.
The reception was organized by Sebastian de la Peña, Camille Phares, and Meghan Hunt from Rep. Doggett’s team, as well as Joshua Bell and Klein Hull from Rep. Estes’ office, with support from ACG Advocacy’s Marla Grossman, Luke Lynch, Sarah Kohn, and Julie Philp.
Rep. Darren Soto (D-Fla.) took the spotlight, playing guitar and singing for attendees. Also in attendance were Reps. Ron Estes (R-Kan.), Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas), Judy Chu (D-Calif.), Deborah Ross (D-N.C.), Becca Balint (D-Vt.), Mark Messmer (R-Ind.), Nathaniel Moran (R-Texas), Kevin Hern (R-Okla.), Don Davis (D-N.C.), Suzanne Bonamici (D-Ore.), Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.), George Whitesides (D-Calif.), Rob Bresnahan (R-Pa.) and Pat Harrigan (R-N.C.), among others.
