14th EARLY CAREER LUNCH HOUR
March 12 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm PDT
Are you a composer for visual media in the early stages of your career?
Are you trying to secure your first feature film, video game, or lead composer credit?
Are you working mostly as an “additional music by” composer?
Are you working mostly as a composer’s assistant?
Have you been working as a media music professional for less than five years?
Join the SCL Early Career Committee for our fourteenth SCL Early Career Lunch Hour on Zoom. These Lunch Hours happen every two months and always start with a Lightning Talk on topics relevant to our Early Career community, followed by a brief Q&A, and then an informal hang in breakout rooms with members of the committee
and your fellow Early Career composers.
The Lightning Talk for March 12th is
Thinking Like A Business Owner
featuring Anne-Kathrin Dern
In this Lightning Talk, we will be discussing how employee positions for media composers are incredibly rare. That’s why it’s extremely important to learn about entrepreneurship early on to set yourself up for long-term success. Composer Anne-Kathrin Dern will walk us through everything you need to know when setting up your business and how to run it.
