BASICS OF INTERACTIVE SCORING
Zoom Webinar
WITH
Composer
GARRY SCHYMAN
This seminar demystifies scoring for video games and explores the interactive techniques at the heart of a game composer’s craft. Garry Schyman, who has taught Advanced Scoring for Video Games in the USC Screen Scoring program for the past 15 years, will demonstrate how composers create music that adapts to gameplay—giving players the impression that their individual experience is being scored in real time. Techniques such as looping, layering, transitions, stingers and more will be presented.
Through audio and visual examples, attendees will see these techniques in action and learn how they can be applied to their own work. Whether you have never scored a game or are just beginning to explore the medium, this seminar will provide an accessible and practical introduction to interactive game scoring.
