Enter the world of mixing and mastering for film, TV, and video games. Learn tips and tricks to make your compositions stand out from the crowd. In this panel, we will have a conversation with three seasoned audio veterans: Angie Teo, Joachim Svare, and Patrick Sasso; each with distinct specialty areas. Moderated by Jack D. Elliot.

Patrick Sasso is the Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of Loop Seven, the corporate embodiment of a lifetime passion for music and the visual arts. Sasso grew up in the Canadian border town of Windsor which gave him the opportunity to nourish his musical lexicon with Motown, fusion jazz, soul, and blues influences. Before the age of 20, Sasso had already a deep experience with music recording and mixing, film composing and jazz standards arrangements. Sasso composes, mixes, and edits short and long-form videos and social media at his studio in Brooklyn, NY.

Joachim Svare is an Emmy-winning music producer, mixer, and songwriter from Denmark. He started his career as a bass player in Copenhagen, playing on records, TV Shows, and concert tours. He moved to Los Angeles and started writing and producing music in a wide variety of genres for various recording artists. He has hundreds of placements in film and TV and is currently working on music for several Nickelodeon and Netflix shows. In addition, he has provided music for commercials, and video games, and has written and produced thousands of music and vocal loops for Apple Computers.

Angie Teo started her engineering career at New York University studying Music Technology then she worked her way up the ranks at the legendary Right Track Studios. There she learned from the best producers, engineers, and artists including Phil Ramone, Frank Filipetti, Richard King, Julie Taymor, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Alex Lacamoire, Carter Burwell, Elliot Goldenthal, Janet Jackson, Madonna, and Bono & The Edge. Highlights of her work in the musical theater and movie musical world include In the Heights, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Be More Chill, Across the Universe, Dear Evan Hansen, tick, tick…BOOM!, West Side Story (2021), and Better Nate Than Ever. The original cast album for Be More Chill, recorded and mixed by Teo, is one of the top 5 streamed cast albums of the past decade according to data compiled by The Nielson Company.

Jack D. Elliot is an innovative industry veteran who has diverse and distinctive discography packed with artists like Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Kelly Rowland, Lo Fidelity Allstars, and Dolly Parton and now wrote the theme song for Super Bowl Champion Rob Gronkowski called “Everybody Get Gronk’ed (Shirts Off to That!)”. Jack also recently finished a short film with a director from Netflix and is working on a full feature as well. He has over 26,000 compositions for television shows around the world including NAVY NCIS, Impractical Jokers, America’s Next Top Model, Real Housewives of Orange County, Access Hollywood, E!, and Good Morning America; has created original scores for networks ABC, CBS, Discovery, Lifetime, Bravo, and more; worked with advertisers such as Progressive Insurance, V8, and Dr. Pepper, and written video soundtracks for Insomniac Games. Jack has produced for award-winning songwriter Diane Warren for eight years and produced and wrote with superstar David Foster. With an incredible ear that closely follows the ever-changing current sounds, Jack has his finger on the pulse of today’s music and displays an uncanny knowledge of translating the trends into what the various avenues of the industry need.

As a board member for the Society of Composers & Lyricists, Jack plans and hosts educational seminars in Los Angeles covering a range of subjects relevant to media composers. He is also actively involved in organizing the SCL’s annual Oscar and Emmy receptions, the inaugural SCL Awards, and writes product reviews for The Score magazine.
