Please join us for this SCL New York Composer to Composer seminar featuring composers Tamar-kali, Shruti Kumar, and Mandy Hoffman, moderated by composer and SCL NY Admin Jackie Andresen. Together, we’ll explore what it takes to build and sustain a career as a composer across film, television, concert music, and beyond. Through personal experiences and candid conversation, our panelists will discuss how they got their start, early career lessons, strategies for working independently and collaborating with or assisting other composers, knowing when to expand your team, and recent projects and career highlights.

The discussion will also examine navigating a scoring career across multiple creative communities, from maintaining connections in Los Angeles while building artistic networks in New York and internationally to working with NYC studios, musicians, contractors, mixers, and other collaborators. We’ll also explore expanding creative careers outside of traditional film scoring, including work with concert music, ensembles, and interdisciplinary collaborations. This is an intimate event with limited seating, so please RSVP as soon as possible.
