When teenage elf brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot get an unexpected opportunity to spend one more day with their late dad, they embark on an extraordinary quest aboard Barley’s epic van Guinevere. Like any good quest, their journey is filled with magic spells, cryptic maps, impossible obstacles, and unimaginable discoveries. But when the boys’ fearless mom Laurel realizes her sons are missing, she teams up with a part-lion, part-bat, part-scorpion, former warrior – aka The Manticore – and heads off to find them. Perilous curses aside, this one magical day could mean more than any of them ever dreamed.

Mychael Danna is an Oscar®-winning film composer recognized for his evocative blending of non-western traditions with orchestral and electronic music. His body of work includes his Oscar®-winning score for Life of Pi, which also earned him a Golden Globe® Award. His passion for presenting complex ideas in a musically accessible way began when Danna was exposed to early and world music at the University of Toronto.

His celebrated scores include Moneyball, Capote, Monsoon Wedding, The Ice Storm, The Sweet Hereafter, and Little Miss Sunshine (for which he shared a Grammy® nomination). For television, Danna won an Emmy® for World Without End. Mychael and Jeff Danna wrote the original music for Alias Grace, for which they were Emmy®-nominated in 2018. In addition, Mychael was Emmy®-nominated the same year for The Last Tycoon. Mychael and Jeff Danna also wrote the score for the animated features The Good Dinosaur, Storks, and The Addams Family.

Jeff Danna, a reluctant piano student at age 8, found solace in the guitar at age 11, and began playing professionally at 15 until a hand injury curtailed his performance career. He subsequently began composing for films and moved to Los Angeles to continue working. He has created scores for such diverse projects as the film adaptations of the video game/action franchises Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Silent Hill, and Silent Hill 2, as well as Fracture, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, Tideland, Lakeview Terrace, The Kid Stays in the Picture, Chicago 10, and the Kurt Cobain biopic Montage of Heck.

For television, Jeff and Mychael Danna wrote the original music for Tyrant, which earned them both Emmy® nominations. They were previously Emmy®-nominated for Camelot in 2011. Together they also wrote the scores for The Addams Family, The Good Dinosaur, Storks, The Breadwinner, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, and Alias Grace. Jeff Danna also writes the music for Guillermo del Toro’s animated science fantasy series 3Below: Tales of Arcadia.
