Join us for this seminar in exploring the Potential of ChatGPT and other AI composition technologies. ChatGPT, a powerful language model developed by OpenAI, can assist with various tasks including music composition and lyrics. With its vast knowledge of language and ability to understand and respond to complex prompts. It has already made a huge impact on artwork for websites and media. Let’s dive in and see how this will help or hinder our music community.

Fletcher Beasley is the Director of Music – Post Production for Marvel Pictures, where he oversees music production for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Over a long career in music, Fletcher has worked as a composer, producer, session musician, synthesizer programmer, arranger, and mixer. He began his career in the nascent days of video games where he worked as an Audio Director for developers of titles for the Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, and Sony Playstation game consoles. He is a former board member of the SCL and has taught courses in music production at UCLA Extension’s Film Scoring Certificate program and Santa Monica College. Fletcher has spoken extensively for organizations such as the SCL, BMI, and ASMAC and at conferences such as the Game Developers Conference, Synthplex, and the CILECT North America “Sound & Storytelling” conference.

Joel Douek is an award-winning composer and instrumentalist, whose music has appeared in hundreds of TV episodes, major documentary specials, and numerous films. Specializing in orchestral drama, he also brings a fascination with world music and electronica into many of his scores. Alongside more than ten IMAX productions and TV series with British naturalist Sir David Attenborough, films such as The Wildest Dream, Manhattan Night, Trust, and The Tall Man, and has scored the iconic animations Yu-gi-oh!, Sonic X, and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Joel serves as Vice President of the Society of Composers & Lyricists, co-founder and CEO of immersive spatial audio company EccoVR. He is also Vice President of the New York International Contemporary Art Society, and is an exhibited artist and sculptor.

Jack D. Elliot is an innovative industry veteran who has diverse and distinctive discography packed with artists like Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Kelly Rowland, Lo Fidelity Allstars, and Dolly Parton, and now wrote the Theme Song for Super Bowl Champion Rob Gronkowski called “Everybody Get Gronk’ed (Shirts Off to That!)”. Jack also recently finished a film with director Heidi Nyburg. He has music in over 26,000 television episodes around the world including NAVY NCIS, Impractical Jokers, America’s Next Top Model, Real Housewives of Orange County, Access Hollywood, E!, and Good Morning America; has created custom music and scores for networks ABC, CBS, Discovery, Lifetime, Bravo, and more; worked with advertisers such as Progressive Insurance, V8, and Dr. Pepper, and scored video games for Insomniac Games Sony. Jack has produced for award-winning songwriter Diane Warren for eight years and produced and wrote with superstar David Foster. With an incredible ear that closely follows the ever-changing current sounds, Jack has his finger on the pulse of today’s music and displays an uncanny knowledge of translating the trends into what the various avenues of the industry need.

As a board member for the Society of Composers & Lyricists, Jack plans and hosts educational seminars in Los Angeles covering a range of subjects relevant to media composers. He is also actively involved in organizing the SCL’s annual Oscar and Emmy receptions, the annual SCL Awards, and writes product reviews for The Score magazine.
