James Leach

I’m sad to report the passing of our dear friend and colleague, James Leach. 

As VP of Creative Services and West Coast Operations for SESAC, James had a deep respect for composers and songwriters, a profound understanding of our profession, and was an ardent supporter of the SCL and all it represents.

A consummate gentleman, James had a smile that wouldn’t quit. He truly enjoyed his work and contributed greatly to the music community not only through his work with SESAC, but as president of the California Copyright Conference (2016-17) and a member of the Living Legends Foundation advisory board. 

James, in a career cut far too short, your contribution to our industry was immense, and your passing leaves a void, both personally and professionally, that will not easily be filled.

Farewell, my friend. Rest in peace.
