Van Alexander

The SCL mourns the passing of our ambassador, colleague and dear friend, Van Alexander. Having only recently celebrated his 100th birthday, Van passed away last night at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

A consummate composer, arranger, bandleader and educator he was a pillar of our musical community and a great supporter of the SCL. His music will live on but it’s also his acerbic wit, that could often have us rolling on the floor with laughter, we’ll never forget.

Van, we’ll miss you.
