I am a native Nashvillian. Since undergrad I have sought and forged treasured personal and professional relationships in the music and film industries. I have scored over 100 short form projects of all genres and four feature films.

But Nashville still feels as a composer insulated and isolated. The infrastructure and talent that lives here has the potential to grow and thrive, making Nashville a one-stop destination for every aspect of film, TV, and game scoring.

I think everyone who works in the music industry here knows that, but I don’t think that awareness has spread even to the local or regional film industry, let alone beyond, as much as I personally would like.

I would love to see more robust opportunities for filmmakers, game developers, and content creators to meet—not just musicians—but composers and narrative storytellers who understand the language of these different artistic mediums. I think the SCL has the tools and the ability to accomplish that and much more for Nashville and the artists who call it home.

It is my privilege, as a member of the SCL Steering Committee, to help build, refine, and accomplish this vision.
