GREG PLISKA is a composer, conductor and orchestrator whose career includes award-winning work in theater, film, television and other media. Broadway work includes music direction of the Tony-winning play War Horse, and incidental music for Sylvia and Summer 1976. He has written music for Shakespeare in the Park productions of As You Like It (co-composed with Steve Martin, Drama Desk nomination), Twelfth Night, and Comedy of Errors. He co-composed the score for feature film Trust (with Joel Douek) and orchestrated Manhattan Night, The Infiltrator, Beethoven’s Treasure Tail, The Wildest Dream, and BAFTA-winning documentary Flying Monsters 3D with David Attenborough. His TV work includes the BAFTA-winning TV series Life, along with other Discovery Channel and National Geographic programs.

Greg’s recording work includes orchestration for acclaimed indie folk band Hem, producing and arranging the eclectic Lives of the Artists (Jon Levi, Mel Marvin), and records for Carly Simon, Tony Trischka, James Iha, Cat Power, Karen Elson, Michael Stipe, and many others. His orchestration work includes new themes for IMAX, CBS Evening News, NPR’s Morning Edition, Face the Nation, HBO Feature Presentation, Hulu, and more.

Off-Broadway scores include Red Bull’s critically lauded production of The Government Inspector, plus The Alchemist, School for Scandal, Vigil, The Window Man, Ice Island, Oy!, and Pericles. He wrote an opera with David Ives,The Secret Garden, and is currently developing a new piece, A Most Dangerous Man, based upon the life of labor leader and civil rights activist Walter Reuther. He orchestrated Trevor, the Musical, now on Disney+. His musical In a Lake of Fire, won a Moss Hart Award.

In addition to creating music, Greg has created puzzles for the New York Times, Playbill, This American Life, The BAYC, et al. He contributed the puzzles forThe Puzzler, AJ Jacob’s bestselling book, and together Pliska and Jacobs won a Signal Award for their podcast Hello Puzzlers.
