The Seventh Annual Beverly Hills International Music Festival is delighted to announce its return in 2010, with nine summer evening concerts, August 8th through August 17th.  This ‘best kept secret’ in Beverly Hills has been drawing music-loving audiences to a series of nine evening concerts ranging from intimate chamber music performances from the classical repertoire, to contemporary music, choral and orchestral music, to works by noted Hollywood Composers.

Festival Artistic Director and Founder, Gregory Cherninsky, has put together an innovative concert series featuring both emerging talent and world-renowned musicians. Appearing individually and in groups, assembled from both the student and faculty Festival rosters, 60 musicians are scheduled to perform a wide range of music at the Sinai Temple and Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.

One evening will be dedicated to compositions from top Hollywood Composers.  Curated by the Festival’s Composer- In- Residence, Sharon Farber, “Voices of Hollywood, Vol. 5”, will take place on the evening of August 14th.  Original chamber music pieces by Film Composers will include works by Erich Wolfgang Korngold (The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Sea Hawk), Mark Watters (Tiny Toon Adventures, Aladdin and the King of Thieves), Alex Shapiro (Horses and Champions), Gernot Wolfgang (The Process), Bruce Babcock (Murder, She Wrote, Casper”), and Sharon Farber (When Nietzsche Wept, Runin’ at Midnite’) – all to be performed by some of Los Angeles’ foremost musicians.

For the second time, the Festival will dedicate the opening night concert, August 8th, to the music of Israel’s Composers. Conceptualized by Ms. Farber, this event should prove to be a very dynamic experience.

In addition to the slate of concert performances, the 2010 Beverly Hills International Music Festival offers master class opportunities for talented young musicians, under the auspices of local and international music faculty. More then fifty students ranging in age from 12 to 40, and hailing from the U.S., China, Hong Kong, Canada, and Russia, will undertake intensive study with twenty four music instructors. The festival participants will receive chamber music coaching, participate in Master Classes and perform in the Final Gala Concert.
