SCL Board member Billy Martin wins 2002 G.A.N.G. Award

Los Angeles, CA – Billy Martin, the award-winning composer whose outlets include such media icons as Universal, Fox, Disney, ABC, the Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, announced that he was honored by The Game Audio Network Guild, the non-profit organization established to promote excellence in interactive music and sound, in the category of Best Edutainment/Children Audio for his music in the PC/Mac game title Disney/Pixar Learning 2nd/3rd Grade w/Buzz Lightyear. The award winners were announced at the first annual Game Audio Network Guild Awards ceremony during the 2003 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Jose, Calif.

Martin commented, “I’m truly honored to have won this award. I’d like to thank sound designer Darren McGrath [Disney Interactive] for his support on this project and all of the projects we have worked on together. The G.A.N.G. awards are very special since the votes come from your audio peers in the game business. This really inspires me to continue to strive for excellence and take the music to the highest level possible – or, to quote Buzz Lightyear, ‘to infinity and beyond!'”
