Congratulations to the recipients of the 77th Annual Academy Awards in the music categories, presented Sunday evening, February 27th, 2005, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California.

Congratulations to Jan A.P. Kaczmarek upon receiving the Academy Award for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures-Original Score, for his score to Finding Neverland.

Congratulations to Jorge Drexler upon receiving the Academy Award for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures-Original Song, for his song Al Otro Lado Del Río from the film Diarios de motocicleta (The Motorcycle Diaries).

The annual SCL Champagne Reception hosted by the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) and the music branch of the Motion Picture Academy (AMPAS) to honor the Music Nominees was held Saturday, February 26th in Beverly Hills. Attending the reception were Score Nominees: Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, John Williams, John Debney, James Newton Howard, and Thomas Newman. Song Nominees attending the reception included Jorge Drexler, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Charles Hart, Alan Silvestri, and Glen Ballard.
