SCL Calls for Protections Amidst First Re-Designation Process of Mechanical Licensing Collective and Digital Licensee Coordinator

The Society of Composers & Lyricists join with Songwriters Guild of America and Music Creators North America to call for protections throughout the first re-designation process of the MLC and DLC, five years after their creation upon passage of the Music Modernization Act.

Protections called for include robust oversight by the US Copyright Office, independent reviews of technology, systems, and operations, and transparency in communication and leadership, among others.
