Submit an MP3 of your song for live acoustic performance @SCL Unplugged – an opportunity for songwriters to have publishers hear their music in an intimate setting.

Apply by submitting ONE MP3 of a song and lyric sheet by February 8, 2020 – 11:59pm.

Submit the following:

– Full name, email address and phone number
– Name of song
– Style / genre of song (pop, rock, rap, country, dance, jazz, etc)
– An MP3 of the song
– Lyric sheet (pdf, doc, txt, rtf)

Selected songs will be performed live at SCL Unpluggedno backing tracks. You may have a singer perform for you. An acoustic piano will be available. BYO guitar.

Submissions are open to current SCL members only.

The SCL SongArts Committee will choose 12 songs for acoustic performance, and contact those selected on Sunday, February 16. If your song isn’t chosen, you’re still very welcome to attend. A general invitation will be sent to members on Monday, February 17.

ALISON DANNENBERG is a Film & TV Creative executive, responsible for placing the songs of Peermusic writers into films, tv shows, trailers, and promos, as well as for leveraging her extensive experience in working with music supervisors, music editors, and film studios. She has successfully pitched and placed the music of such iconic songwriters as Hoagy Carmichael, Donovan, David Foster, James Poyser, Salaam Remi, and more for numerous major projects. She started as Peermusic Coordinator in 2014 and has worked her way up the ladder. Previously, she worked at America’s Funniest Home Videos where she assisted the show’s music supervisor in brainstorming music for clip montages.

SARAH GROCOCK is Creative Sync Manager at Lyric House and an active member of the LA Sync Licensing community. She pitches sync placements and signs new talent to the Lyric House roster. Sarah got her music industry start while studying Music Business at Belmont University, completing internships at Chop Shop Music Supervision (Grey’s Anatomy, The OC, Gossip Girl, Hunger Games), BMG Music Publishing, Viacom (CMT, Paramount Network, TV Land), and Round Hill Music Publishing. Upon graduation, she joined Lyric House as Music Coordinator and was elevated to her current role shortly after. She has the pleasure of working on campaigns such as Showtime’s Shameless, Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, STARZ Promos, Fortnite, XBOX, and Fox’s Empire.

CASSIE LORD, President and Managing Partner of SyncStories, helps oversee worldwide licensing and publishing operations. Recent deals include licensing music for Avengers: Endgame, Vans Skateboards, and Survivor. Over a 30-year span, she spearheaded the formation of the Film & Television Music Divisions for APM Music, Zomba’s FirstCom, and 5 Alarm Music. She directed production, operations, and the accumulation of more than 80 music libraries that can be heard on major motion pictures and television shows, including Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, X-Men, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Batman vs Superman, The Walking Dead and advertising campaigns for Dodge, Old Navy and Pepsi. As a highly sought after music industry executive, Cassie also consulted for Thomas Dolby’s company Beatnik and worked with Nokia’s Digital Music Division. Cassie is a proud board member of the Production Music Association.

ERIC VASQUEZ is CEO/Executive Producer of SyncStories. His music career spans well over 20 years as a musician, composer, A&R, producer, entrepreneur, and recording engineer in addition to an 8-year touring career as the drummer for early 80’s iconic punk rock band, Dr.Know. As a composer and executive music producer, Vasquez has produced hundreds of original songs and compositions that can be heard on numerous Television shows, Films, and Advertisements. SyncStories placements and creative work includes Chicago Fire (NBC), The Purge (USA), Toy Story 4, The Avengers 4: End Game (Disney), Botched (E!), Vans Skateboards, SuperStore (NBC), Knives Out, and American Idol. Vasquez also has a background in operation & systems management, web design, branding, graphic art, and computer & software technology from his tenure as IT Computer Technician at Boeing Aerospace & Aviation.

DAVID QUAN is a 25-year veteran of the music industry. He is currently Vice President, Business Affairs, at Angry Mob Music, where his responsibilities include business affairs, licensing, and administration. He has extensive experience in all facets of music publishing, having worked for notable music companies and film/TV studios such as Universal Music, BMG, Peermusic, Warner/Chappell, Leiber & Stoller, Music & Media International, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and NBCUniversal. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from California State University at Los Angeles and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Corporate Finance) from the University of Southern California. He currently serves as President of the California Copyright Conference.
