The Loudest Voice with Marcelo Zarvos

Composer Marcelo Zarvos discusses the music of Showtime’s The Loudest Voice alongside SCL President, Ashley Irwin.

The Loudest Voice, a SHOWTIME Limited Series produced by Blumhouse Television, is based on Gabriel Sherman’s bestselling book The Loudest Voice in the Room, which included interviews with more than 600 people and Sherman’s extensive reporting for New York Magazine. Even after his passing, no figure looms larger in today’s politically charged media landscape than Roger Ailes, who molded Fox News into a force that irrevocably changed the conversation about the highest levels of government. To understand the events that led to the rise of the modern Republican Party, one must understand Ailes.

The limited series The Loudest Voice takes on that challenge. Primarily focusing on the past decade when Ailes arguably became the Republican Party’s de facto leader, it also touches on defining events in Ailes’ life, including experiences with world leaders that gave birth to Ailes’ political career, and the sexual harassment accusations and settlements that brought his Fox News reign to an end. The series aims to shed light on the psychology that drives the political process from the top down.
