An Evening with Alan and Marilyn Bergman

Share

For The Society of Composers & Lyricists’ first SongArts event, the SCL and ASCAP presented an evening with illustrious songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman.  As their songs have been enriching the Great American Songbook for more than five decades, they have received three Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, the Grammy Trustees Award, and have been nominated for 16 Academy Awards.

Having written with such collaborators as Michel Legrand, Marvin Hamlisch, Dave Grusin, Cy Coleman, Henry Mancini, Johnny Mandel, Lew Spence, John Williams, Quincy Jones and James Newton Howard, they have had a variety of experiences and talk about their songs, their process and show film clips.

Moderated by Michael Kerker, ASCAP Director of Musical Theatre.
