Composers and songwriters are required to produce high quality recordings and mixes these days as part of the job. But for many, the process of micing instruments is confusing and mysterious. In this seminar, Brad Haehnel demystifies the recording process and covers signal chain, acoustics, microphones, mic placement and recording for composers and songwriters working out of project studios.
Brad Haehnel is a professional recording engineer based in Los Angeles, California known for his work with Mark Mothersbaugh, Mychael Danna, and John Powell. Getting his start in Toronto, Ontario at Manta Records, Brad has spent his career amassing credits ranging from Nelly Furtado’s early albums to feature films like the Academy Award winning Life of Pi and LEGO: The Movie.
