The 2006 SCL Oscar Reception was a star-studded event with John Williams, Dolly Parton, the late Red Buttons, and Stan Freberg and Richard Sherman who recall their days working with Walt Disney. There’s a special appearance by Itzhak Perlman who delivers words of praise for John Williams 1993 score, Schindlers List, and their warm working relationship over the years.

The nominees for best score were: Brokeback Mountain, Gustavo Santaolalla (winner); The Constant Gardener, Alberto Iglesias; Memoirs of a Geisha, John William; Munich, John Williams; and Pride & Prejudice, Dario Marianelli.

The nominees for best song were: It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp from Hustle & Flow, music and lyric by Jordan Houston, Cedric Coleman and Paul Beauregard (winner); In the Deep from Crash, music by Kathleen “Bird” York and Michael Becker, lyric by Kathleen “Bird” York; and Travelin’ Thru from Transamerica, music and lyric by Dolly Parton.
