Chair, SCL SongArts NY

This event will pull back the curtain on the world of sync—the licensing of music for visual media. We’ll learn how music creators can set themselves up for success in the sync world, research and identify trends, and write with sync possibilities in mind. Additional topics will include splitting song royalties, pitching odds, and the relationship between publishers and music libraries.

Brooke Primont will take us through her journey discovering, signing, and pitching the artist Ruelle, leading to hundreds of syncs. Antonella Di Saverio will shed light on the role of BMI in the vast sync universe. Their camaraderie, vast knowledge, experience and professional generosity ensures a highly informative, detailed and upbeat session.

SCL members will be given time at the end of the session to ask questions.

Brooke Primont is the Senior Vice President of Sync at Concord Music Publishing. She oversees the department, working on music placements for Concord songwriters and composers in television, film, ads, video games as well as all other media outlets. Primont joined Concord in 2017 after seven years at Razor & Tie and seven years at Cherry Lane Music Publishing. Prior to that, she was Director of Writer Publisher Relations at BMI. Primont has proven results in music pitching, and music licensing and clearance, including recent placements with Heinz, Chevy, Kmart, Payless, Apple, Pepsi, Transparent, and Grey’s Anatomy. She has also held the title of Music Supervisor on the independent films Concussion (2014) and No Pay Nudity (2015). Primont is a graduate of Tulane University where her career in music kicked off with her own radio show on WTUL.

Antonella Di Saverio is Senior Director, Administration & Publisher Relations at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). In this role, she works with songwriters, composers, and publishers on royalty/administration issues; and provides guidance in the same capacity to BMI’s Creative staff. Di Saverio joined BMI in 1994 and holds a BBA in Finance from Hofstra University and a Masters degree in Mass Communications from Hunter College. She was also elected to the NY chapter of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) Board for 2021-2022.

Elizabeth Rose was born into an artistic family with strong ties to the music and comedy worlds. She started playing music at a very young age, learning to sing, play guitar and master the keyboards. Throughout her extensive career, Rose has worked on projects for PBS, the Discovery Channel, and Nickelodeon. She wrote and starred in Relative Pitch, a one-woman musical comedy produced by The Cherry Lane Theatre (Off-Broadway). Rose, a serial performer, is also an author. Her hilarious memoir, Yo Miz (1 Teacher + 25 Schools = 1 Wacky Year) won three indie awards. When the pandemic hit, she began creating a happiness song project. Her first release will be a single, “The Set Aside Song”, featuring a bevy of top studio guys including Steve Gadd (drums) and Tony Levin (bass). Release date: TBA early 2022. She serves on the SCL Board of Directors, Chairs the SCL SongArts NY Committee and enjoys bolstering our SCL community.
