Are you a composer for visual media in the early stages of your career?

Are you trying to secure your first feature film, video game, or lead composer credit?

Are you working mostly as an “additional music by” composer?

Are you working mostly as a composer’s assistant?

Have you been working as a media music professional for less than five years?

Join the SCL Early Career Committee for our third SCL Early Career Lunch Hour on Zoom. These Lunch Hours happen every two months, and always start with a Lightning Talk on topics relevant to our Early Career community, followed by a brief Q&A, and then an informal hang in breakout rooms with members of the committee and your fellow Early Career composers.

The Lightning Talk for April 7 is Basic networking concepts, and how to let them guide your own networking efforts featuring composer and Early Career chair Kubilay Uner.

Event open to current members of the SCL only. Please be sure to update your Zoom software for full functionality in the breakout rooms.

Kubilay Uner makes adventurous, eclectic, colorful music for media ranging from film and television to concerts and records. Credits include numerous narrative features and documentaries, including the SCL Award-nominated feature drama American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally starring Al Pacino, the Mel Gibson action film Force of Nature, the Lionsgate Western Gone Are the Days starring Lance Henriksen, Tom Berenger, and Danny Trejo, as well as Big Sur starring Jean-Marc Barr, Josh Lucas, Kate Bosworth, and Stana Katic, based on Jack Kerouac’s novel; plus record productions for soul legend Bobby Womack; the theme park ride Corkscrew Hill at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA; and music for video art installations at the LA County Museum of Art and the Pasadena Museum of California Art.

Kubi is currently serving his third term as a member of the SCL Board of Directors where he chairs the Early Career Committee.

Jeremy Nathan Tisser is a composer and songwriter whose music can be heard on Disney+, Playstation VR, Oculus, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and more. In addition to his composing work, Jeremy has worked in various aspects of the music department on such projects as Jurassic World, Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Disney’s Oscar-nominated short Get A Horse!, and more. He can also be found playing the bass drum on camera in the famous opening freeway scene of the Oscar-winning musical La la Land. Jeremy was a participant of the 2014 ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis, and the 2017 LA Film Conducting Intensive with Angel Velez, Conrad Pope, and Bill Ross. He now serves on the SCL Early Career Committee hoping to advocate for the next generation of composers.
