In partnership with EA Music, the SCL presents Game Changers, a virtual panel exploring the creative demands of composing music for science fiction video games. Bringing together composers working across futuristic and space-driven game worlds, the conversation will examine how music helps build immersive sci-fi universes through the fusion of orchestral writing, electronic sound design, and experimental sonic palettes. Panelists will share insights into their process, from developing thematic material for characters, factions, and worlds, to balancing innovation with narrative clarity across expansive and often non-linear gameplay environments.

As sci-fi games continue to push the boundaries of storytelling and worldbuilding, music plays a central role in shaping the player’s sense of discovery, scale, and emotion. This discussion highlights the craft behind creating bold, forward-looking scores that define the sound of futuristic worlds, offering a closer look at how composers build sonic identities that feel both otherworldly and emotionally grounded.
