Five-time Emmy-nominated composer Nathan Barr has received critical acclaim for his unmatched versatility, incorporating eclectic instruments from musical cultures across the world into his scores. Barr recently earned three Emmy nominations, including one for “Outstanding Music Composition For A Limited Series” for Netflix’s Hollywood. Barr also earned two Emmy nominations for “Outstanding Main Title Theme Music” for Hollywood and Amazon Studios/Legendary Television’s hit fantasy period drama Carnival Row, after being the first person to achieve this a few years ago. He had previously earned two Emmy nominations for “Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music” in the same year for FX’s The Americans and Netflix’s Hemlock Grove. Barr’s hallmark adaptability has led him to score a diverse roster of some of television’s biggest shows including Hulu’s hit comedy-drama The Great; FX’s Emmy-winning drama Fosse/Verdon; HBO’s Emmy-winning and fan-favorite series, True Blood; Amazon’s acclaimed con-man drama Sneaky Pete; and AMC’s multi-generational western epic The Son.

Alongside his extensive career in television, Barr has scored more than 40 films including Blumhouse Productions’ The Hunt, directed by Craig Zobel; Miramax/Amazon Studios’ upcoming film Uncle Frank, written and directed by Alan Ball; Amblin Entertainment’s The Turning, directed by Floria Sigismondi; gore-horror master Eli Roth’s early cult-classics Cabin Fever and Hostel, as well as the hit Amblin Entertainment/Universal Pictures family-horror film The House with a Clock in its Walls.

Barr performs many of the instruments heard in his compositions and is skilled in many styles ranging from orchestral to rock. He is known for his collection and inclusion of rare and unusual instruments from around the world, such as a human bone trumpet from Tibet, dismantled pianos, a rare Glass Armonica, and gourd cellos. The gem of his collection is a 3 manual, 19 rank Wurlitzer Theater Organ with 1,366 pipes.

Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans are two Emmy-nominated composers. They have been playing music together for over twenty years. In the last ten years, they have completed well over 100 acclaimed film and TV scores.

One of their first films, Martha Marcy May Marlene garnered much attention for its sparse and suspenseful score. Soon after, their sinister score for Enemy won “Best Musical Score” at the Canadian Screen Awards. In 2015, they scored the acclaimed suspense thriller The Gift. More recent films include The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Boy Erased, The Lodge, and The Rental. The duo has also written remarkable scores for documentaries LA 92, Amanda Knox, The Wolfpack, and many more. Upcoming films include The Devil All the Time and The White Tiger.

In TV, Danny and Saunder have scored 3 seasons of Ozark, for which they earned a 2020 Primetime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Music Composition for a Series.” Other television works include The OA, Chef’s Table, Fear the Walking Dead, American Gods, On Becoming a God in Central Florida, and The Outsider.

Antonio Gambale is an Italian-Australian composer based in Paris. He most recently scored Netflix’s international hit limited series, Unorthodox, which earned Antonio two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Main Title Theme Music and Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series. Film Music Magazine also praised the music as a “breakthrough score.” Antonio’s career spans decades, including a long and fruitful collaboration with Parisian composer Nathaniel Méchaly, with whom he worked on the Taken film franchise as programmer, additional music composer and score producer. His other credits include the Tribeca horror-comedy film Stung (co-scored with David Menke), Sotiris Dounoukos-directed Joe Cinque’s Consolation, NBC’s Taxi Brooklyn, and a veritable list of the top French box office films spanning a variety of genres over past five years. Antonio is a graduate of the inaugural year of the Screen Composition course at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School.

Coming from a musical background (he’s Benjamin Britten’s godson), Martin Phipps studied drama at Manchester University. Fortunately for the acting profession, he decided to concentrate his energies on writing music. Since scoring his first TV drama Eureka Street in 2002, he has won two BAFTA Awards as well as 5 Ivor Novello Awards, and he has been nominated for 5 Primetime Emmys.

Martin has composed music for many acclaimed television series including the A&E miniseries adaptation of War & Peace, Hugo Blick’s The Honourable Woman, Peaky Blinders, two episodes of Black Mirror – “The National Anthem” (Season 1) and “Hated in the Nation” (Season 3), as well as Season 3 of the Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award-winning Netflix Original Series, The Crown. He is also known for his film credits including  Woman in Gold (co-scored with Hans Zimmer) starring Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren, Fox Searchlight’s  The Aftermath starring Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgård, Harry Brown starring Michael Caine, and Brighton Rock with Helen Mirren. Martin also established Mearl – a project to facilitate collaboration between other artists and composers, as well as a platform for developing his own materials. Peaky Blinders was the first soundtrack written under this name, scored with a band of musicians from Radiohead’s new Laundry Studios in London Fields. Two other recent feature films were also written under this title.
