Randy Newman is considered to be one of the greatest American singer-songwriters and film composers of all time, and one of America’s sharpest and most caustic wits. He has composed for numerous major animated films including A Bug’s Life, all four Toy Story films, Cars, Monsters Inc., and Monsters University. Other film scores include Ragtime (his first Oscar® nomination), The Natural, Three Amigos (for which he was also a co-screenwriter), Avalon, Pleasantville, Meet the Parents, Seabiscuit, and Leatherheads.

Newman has released 13 albums as a recording artist and has had his songs covered by hundreds of artists including: Harry Nilsson, Three Dog Night, Linda Ronstadt, Ray Charles, Joe Cocker, Etta James, Keb Mo, Tom Jones, Nina Simone, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Elton John, Don Henley, Ringo Starr and Emmylou Harris.

He has been nominated for 20 Academy Awards®, winning two. He has also won three Emmys®, six Grammy Awards®, and The Governor’s Award from the Recording Academy. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002, and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
