 2:00pm-4:00pm PST // 5:00pm-7:00pm EST

SCL SongArts held its first Global SongDemic on June 27, 2020, teaming US-based songwriters with collaborators from around the world. The song presentations were of such a high standard that SongArts LA and NY decided to invite music supervisors and our membership to hear them – Sync Session #9.

The SongDemic featured 26 new songs, so the SongArts team has divided their ‘second run’ into two events, one for LA and one for NY (which will be announced at a later date). The LA event will focus on the results of these 12 songwriter pairings:

Deborah Ward & Ned Paul Ginsburg

Elise Solberg & George Shaw

Marie Kingsley & Matt Citron

Arhynn Descy & Gene Micofsky

David Das & Joelle Sahar

Rachel Maloney & Rivita Goyle

Julie Lyons & Matthew Hurewitz

Angela Parrish & Robin Share

Chris Wirsig & Daniel E. Wakefield

Greg Sgammato & Mark Cross

Diana Nassar & Lionel Cohen

Bronte Horder & Bryson Kemp

Original songs written for the film were nominated for multiple awards, with Taylor Swift and The Civil War’s “Safe and Sound” winning the Grammy for ‘Best Song Written for Visual Media.’ Additionally, Catching Fire’s “Atlas” by Coldplay was Golden Globe-nominated for Best Original Song.
